Thought I would share....

I picked up a few of Allison Connors Flower brads a while back and wasn't quite sure how i would use them, only because the colors i picked up were not in my normal color choices, but i had to have them because the were metal, and they were flowers. Any one who knows me knows i love myself a good flower......so then i got to playing,Flowers what starts off as this.....can become so many new things....the possibilities are endless. I taught these techniques at several classes across the country.Flowers_separated

If you remove the brad from the flower center and gently pull the two layer apart, and turn them over, you have a canvas to paint on with alcohol inks like i did here.  I love my alcohol inks! They are a must have in my tool kit!Ink_2 Ink

I used a regular office brad in the center of the flowers to hold it together and a mini epoxy from my Love Struck collection to finish it off. By the way CI has a zillion mini epoxies that would make really cute centers of these flowers. Go check out the site and see them all....

Glitter_1 For the next sample i ran my separated flowers through my Xyron machine and covered each piece in glass glitter...for the center of this one I used Art Warehouse pearl brads...the perfect finishing touch don't you think?

Flower_and_brad and finally a great sample for those of you who need instant gratification. and i know you are out there! take the flowers apart, flip them over. Curl the petals under...and secure the center with an Art Warehouse rhinestone brad....

the point of this post is....experiment. Challenge yourself. try new techniques....let me know what you come up with!
